I had an idea for a business, but no real structure, no financials, and absolutely no understanding of how funding or grants actually worked. The first 30 days were focused heavily on building my foundation my business plan, financial projections, and really thinking through the details of my business. I won’t lie, it wasn’t easy. There was a lot of back and forth with the Experts, and at times it felt overwhelming because they were asking questions I hadn’t even considered before. But looking back, that process was exactly what I needed. They were very patient, detailed, and clearly knew what they were doing. Once everything was completed, we moved into the funding search phase. The Experts continued to provide me with programs and opportunities, but I hesitated. I think a big part of me was unsure and a bit afraid to actually move forward with applications. It’s one thing to prepare everything, but another to take that next step. Even during that time, they stayed consistent sending options, explaining things, and encouraging me without pushing unrealistic expectations. Around the 60-day mark, I decided to move forward more seriously, and the Experts actually helped submit applications to 3 different grant programs on my behalf. That gave me a lot more confidence, knowing things were being done properly. Then around 90 days in, I received my first approval for £10,000. That was a huge moment for me and really validated the entire process. The other two applications didn’t get approved, which was a bit disappointing at first, but the team quickly helped me understand that this is normal and part of the process.
