Twitchen House just is not well managed. There are plenty of staff but they need training & coaching by a good manager to give the service that we had paid for. We needed to allow 20 minutes to queue to order breakfast and then we'd need to queue the same time again just to get the filter coffee that comes with the breakfast by which time the breakfasts would have already been served to our table! During the daytime the kitchen service was fast and food was great. Bar was very slow. Take away was overpriced and slow in the evenings.

Very misleading booking process that asked if you want to upgrade with a picture of new wave accommodation & even saying new wave. but in reality you are just upgrading to a 3 bedroom instead of a 2 bedroom, as shown in the attached photo.

Our caravan was run down and needed repairing, Leaking tap, rotten floor etc. Food was lovely but very expensive. Evening entertainment for the kids was rubbish and my kids didnt want to go down at night because it was so bad. Great views and lovely area so will be back but not to the resort. Dog friendly but the walk down to the beach along the footpath requires having to lift the dog over some stone stiles, not good if you have a big dog.

Awful disgusting place, dirty stinks and unkempt. Staff incompetent and unhelpful need customer service training. I will never recommend this place or holiday here again Twitchen house was the worst of the bunch!!! Book three bedroom gold craven, new for 2017 they say: arrived only to find one of the bedroom as a dumping ground from the previous guest, Pillow cases were stained and dirty, the other two beds were spread in a hurry. There were dirty cups and plates in the cupboard ready to be used. The shower had hair from the previous guest. The sofa in the sitting area itches the balcony door filthy/dirty and there were dust all around the caravan. Staff were very unhelpful and speak to you in a hurry, when we told them about our bed not spread they just casually say that they will send someone to sort it no apologies what so ever!!! No access to your phone on site no signal or wifi ( could have told us this before hand). We are so glad that we weren't staying beyond 3 days so glad to see the back of that place not worth the money !!! I'm sure there are other accommodations around the surrounding area which are far better and cheaper which provide better customer services , avoid this place it's the holiday accommodation from hell !!!

Disgraceful treatment and totally uncaring attitudes, especially from the duty manager of Twitchen House on the evening of 18.8.17 - mine was not the only family in difficulty and when asked if my special needs children would have to sleep in the car boot the staff shrugged and ignored us. I have severe disabilities too and could have been hospitalised by being left in the cold and wet but the staff didn't care one jot, the older woman with the blonde hair on duty and the duty manager were awful in their attitudes. When I managed to travel for 2 hours and buy a tent as ours was faulty and had broke (caravans were available but we had a therapy dog for my disabled son but the manager didn't care, a dog was just a dog!) it was 1am before I got my young children to bed. The facilities weren't great, not much to do, the pool was warm but very small, food adequate but very overpriced and the term "happy camper" doesn't apply to this place - I barely saw a smiling face. Beware if you are disabled - despite requesting being near facilities we were as far as possible, it's very hilly all over, they don't care about any problems you may have at all and the disabled shower was half broken. Activities were less than made out to be, kids things we had bought tokens in advance for, many we couldn't use the tokens on and had to pay more for again if we wanted them to do those activities, even though it said on a sheet to use tokens for them. The place was a shambles of disorganization and apathy. The arcade was small and half of the machines simply took your money then didn't work, but instead of a refund like any proper place you had to fill in a form and collect money back the next day - by which time you had either forgotten or were so desperate to escape this hell hole you didn't care any more. The pleasant woodland walk to the beach is actually about a 5 mile steep trek - my health and fit husband was hard pressed by it! The beach is a public one in town, half allows dogs and the other half doesn't. Much of the resort did allow dogs, but I still would never return here or even to Devon as it's left such a bad taste for my family. It's put my family off camping for life, we used to go regularly years ago but after this never again! Though due to the extremely narrow, curvy lanes leading to the sites I am now a very accomplished driver - I have no idea how anybody copes with a caravan though and our thoughts on getting one of those have also been quashed. The best part about this holiday? Going home!!!

Quick, easy and simple - I would have given 5* but they add 1.5% if paying by credit card

The booking process on their website is really easy. Even when we had questions six months later they were happy to help over the phone with plenty of enthusiasm. With this kind of attitude we'll keep going to Woolacombe Bay for years to come.

Struggled to register as have previously visited but not since 2010. Hayley on reception was brilliant and amalgamated my old account and new online registration and completed the booking Looking forward to visiting this beautiful site which holds so many happy memories.
