Well I brought a camera doorbell , firstly it kept ringing before I’d even set it up properly. On the 3rd try just as I put he last battery in it started smoking ,it wasn’t the battery , it was the fixings on the camera . I don’t know how to get in touch with the company as I brought it through wowcher. I want a refund.

I used Wowcamera for the first to buy a Samsung Tablet 8 Ultra. The Tablet was not new as described on the site so I asked for a refund. The box was opened already upon arrival. The sales rep Sally Turner gave me reasons for this which was dubious. She said that vendors perform "random stock checks" so the box might be opened. Then later in another email, she claims the reason the box was opened is that "it appears the checks were likely done during customs clearance due to added security checks" I kindly asked for a refund. Sally offered up to £25 refund for the postage which the buyer has to pay. Please note that the return address is in Hong Kong, not wherever the item was sent from. I raised the case with Paypal instead as I felt it was easier and more secure to claim the refund back that way. I've posted the item back and Wowcamera authorised the refund. However, because I raised the case with Paypal, she told me that they won't offer me the postage amount anymore! The reason for this was "the business is under restructuring phase, it is not actively operating at this time". I'm pretty sure this is not completely true as their website does not have any evidence of this currently. I am seeking ways to get the refund back, but given it is not a UK based company, they know that the law does not go very far. Also, as I mentioned, be aware that they may give you off-the-shelf reasons which are half-truth at best when you do complain or have issues in order to keep you from pursuing things.

AVOID!! Shame I had to give one star, they don’t even deserved that. Appalling after sales service. I purchased a iPhone back in November 21 which I never received, after numerous emails, telephone calls all I kept being told was they were waiting on DHL, Sally kept trying to come across professional in her emails but kept contradicting herself. They took days to return emails, days trying to get through on their phone lines which was very frustrating when you spent nearly £1000 and two months on not go no replacement or refund. I requested a manager to call me as Sally said they were on the case but no one called.I finally managed to deal with DHL myself to be told and confirmed in an email that my parcel has been LOST IN TRANSIT and that WOWCAMERA had been notified of this, weeks on that same evening Sally had said they were still awaiting on DHL. I emailed her the confirmation from DHL which they ignored again for days and then said my manager is awaiting confirmation from DHL, absolute rubbish as I received my email confirmation the same day as my call to them. At one point wow camera said if you don’t trust us you can go back through PayPal but I could loose the dispute, so would be best to trust them. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. After I provided all the information they required for my refund I have never heard from them since. I didn’t go to PayPal which I purchased through I went to my credit card company who did a charge back and today I finally after 3 months of unneeded stress have received my monies back. Don’t go through PayPal as you loose a lot of rights SECTION 75 always go through your credit card better still don’t even purchase through PayPal. I brought from this company a couple of years back and everything was fine, what I have established is if everything runs along fine all is good but if you don’t receive or have a problem with your item the AFTERSALES IS RUBBISH they are not interested I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, I would rather pay that little extra and get the service you should receive. BANDITS, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Not worth even 1 star! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! It’s not under warranty in the UK. I’m absolutely gutted I’ve wasted money. I will be taking this further I have proof!

Omg not even worth a star! It’s a fraudulent company and I will take this further because the people involved as nasty and scrum ripping people off. Awful service awful device. Money grabbing people

I cannot recommend this company. It look like they are not uk based despite they pretend to be. They have sent me a camera (worth over £1600) in just manufacturer box and taped it over with sticky tape... The box was knocked and camera wasn't switching on. After an email exchange they asked me to return the camera to them for a refund or replacement. I did that on my expense and they refused to accept a parcel! Now I am waiting to get the parcel back to me, and I will update this post as soon as I have anymore information, but at the moment I am not happy at all. 5.12.2019 Update: Today I have supplied WOWCAMERA with requested documentation from the carriers and waiting for their response. 18.04.2019 Update I opened a paypal case, but still wasnt in possesion of the camera as it was stuck in "sorting centre" of Royal Mail. They gave me some time to post it to Honk Kong address this time(not Luxembourg address as previously requested by Wowcamera, and I feel they did that intentionaly to make sure I won't win Paypal case this way), hovewer I couldn't do that as I wasn't in possesion of the camera at that time therefore Paypal case was closed in favour of merchant . Then I received the camera back and posted it to their Hong kong address anyway. I will now copy and paste recent email exchange with them. * My emails (30 March 2020): 1. "Hello I see that you finally received the camera to the address in Hong Kong provided by you through paypal resolution centre. Tracking code is RN5******85GB. As you can check yourself camera is definately faulty, so please refund me finally. It took long enough.. Regards" 2. "I also expect you to refund me postage charges. I attached a photo of a receipt to this email address. Regards" * Their response (31 March 2020): "Hi J***b, Thanks for getting in touch. Hope this email finds you safe & healthy. I have referred both your emails below to Compliance as the fact it was through a claim this decision was reached, I would need to alert the respective dept. overseeing this matter before offering any next steps. Hope you understand. My team or I will reach out once we have further confirmation. Keep safe! Kind regards, Sally Turner" * Their another email (1 April 2020): "Morning J***b, Having consulted Compliance, we've been advised for you to contact PayPal instead. Sorry we can't be of further support, but please follow up with PayPal on this matter going forward. All the best in your future endeavors, and do keep safe! Kind regards, Sally Turner" **** in a meantime I tried to reopen case with paypal, but without success **** * My email (from today which is 18 April 2020): 1. "Paypal case is closed.... and your company is a big scam. I already wrote to HK consumer rights advice regarding this and waiting for an answer from them to check what are .y options. I will sue your company to court if there will be a need. I will also write reviews on every possible reviews site if you will be deceiveing me and not refund me the money for camera I returned to you." 2. "You know that its not possible to reopen closed paypal case, but you want me to deal through paypal dispute system anyway. I understand that its your intention not to refund me and keep this defective camera. If you have good intentions then show it as till now it looks like your intention is to scam me." Lets wait now and see what their response gonna be.
