We were crowded off the road just blocks from the garage and damaged the car. Help from Enterprise was non-existent. They left us sitting for several hours in the car and—get this—refused to give us another car. They did not send anyone to help us get to a hotel, instead leaving us to fend for ourselves. I would not rent a car from Enterprise ever again, even on a bet. Nor would I suggest anyone else rent from them.”

“I had a courtesy car from Enterprise Hemel Hempstead when my car was damaged in an accident. I picked up the car from the branch, a dark and dingy NCP Car Park. The female staff member pointed out some damage on the front tyres and also the front wheels. She told me these were known issues and not worry. My father also witnessed this.
When the car was collected, I was blamed for the damage to the tyres and they took £500 from my bank. I have spoken to several people in Enterprise and they keep backing the staff member who is now lying about the damage being there when i collected the car.
I am now taking them to the County Court and would recommend that people avoid Enterprise like the plague.”

2000 GBP were taken from my bank account for small superficial scratches on the front bumper (which indeed weren't there when I took the car), and possibly an impact on the front left rim which I believe was there before I took the car (reading from other online reviews, those small impacts on the rim do seem to be a standard way for them to take money from you). I was supposed to get reimbursed when the work had been done but I haven't heard from them since (3 months ago).
I received a congestion charge after renting a car. That is ok because indeed I drove in the congestion charge area. What is wrong is that the cost is 90 pounds + 35 pounds admin fee. Ii should cost 15 pounds total which is the normal congestion charge, but they say they haven't registered the car for the congestion charge area, while I rented the car just outside of the congestion charge area and they never mentioned I would have to pay such an amount if I did get into that area.”
“The very worst Customer service experience I have ever had!
Enterprise cancelled our minibus hire 3 days before our planned holiday due to limited availability of vehicles, but with no real explanation. Despite having booked and paid over £1200 4 months earlier.
In order to book another minibus at extremely short notice, we needed our money refunded so that we could pay. However, the only person that would talk to me was a member of the Sidcup office who had no control or influence over a refund, other than to tell me it would take 7-10 days!!
Having had my rental cancelled by them, and not having received any kind of service or rental, they still would not express my refund, they just held onto my money.
I tried to speak to management at the local branch, and higher up the food chain, but nobody, was willing to talk to me!
I tried contacting them via social media accounts, and was promised calls, but nothing came!
Enterprise hid behind its faceless corporate bureaucracy, and confronts customers with a wall of silence.
Off the back of this our holiday was cancelled, our accommodation would not refund due to the imminent arrival date.
Extremely poor customer service!
No way to speak to anyone with any decision making capability!
Awful payment/refund policy.
Will not use again, advise you don’t either!”

1. Booked and paid for automatic 8 months in advance for 15 day driving in UK - but not available - had to take Manual which caused significant pain while being forced to drive with severe Knee arthritis for 6 days before could be changed to automatic
2. Repeated lying from 3 different branches on action they were taking to remediate, including a reimbursement amount. EG email to next location to arrange for change of vehicle - did not occur, promises for reimbursement etc,
3 Inadequate response from complaint escalation process, required numerous calls before p.ss poor response received one month later
4. then failed to inform that Marleybone location was on border of London Congestion Zone and took 125 GBP from account to pay citation, as within a few minutes of collecting car drove inadvertantly into the Zone so could backtrack onto Marleybone Rd to go in other direction to get out of London. Very upsetting when didnt even know such a zone existed.
BAD customer service, BAD follow up. NEVER again with this company and all friends and family told

“Terrible customer service and a total ripoff. I returned my car through drop box on Gatwick on 4th June. Till date I didn’t get any email confirming closure of my booking, however, the company deducted £150 from my deposit without stating any reason. I sent an email which is still unanswered.
Meanwhile, I was sent two traffic violation fine. I paid one online and filed a review petition with the authorities regarding the second. The authorities have given me six week till a decision, but I was shocked to find out today that Enterprise has deducted fine amount from my card without waiting for the outcome of petition.
I find this behaviour as total rip off.

“Worst rental experience of my life - beware!!! Do not rent here - go to Worthing branch instead. I've rented all over the world and in third world countries where its not advised to rent, and NEVER EVER had such a horrible experience.
Rented a van here, which stank of sick and has damage all over. The employee took me around the van and pointed out the damage but at no point did he look at the tyres. So off I went.
On return, the same employee went to "inspect" the vehicle, and coincidentally went straight to the rear tyre and looked at it for over a minute as if he was looking for something. Sure enough, he found some tiny splits (pictures attached, with "damage" circled), which he said he will charge £200 for and keep the deposit! Tyres are wear and tear item, and the splits found would pass any inspection and MOT (not "Deep Enough To Expose Cords or Plys"). This kind of "damage" can be found on 99% of cars, so basically these guys can keep your deposit if they want do.
I argued with the intern and the branch "manager" for over half an hour but they story seemed very rehearsed and they didn't care.
So don't be tempted by the cheap prices, they fully intend to keep your deposit! Note that Excess Protection at £25/day extra does not protect against this as it only reduces the excess to £250!!!”
