“I've been dealing with Suma for years and have developed a good working relationship with them.
I note the current criticism of them with regard to Delamere. I also note the response Suma has made on the issue.
I'll always give Suma the benifit of the doubt knowing that if they weren't happy with a supplier's ethics they would rather drop the supplier than support animal cruelty.
Suma's ethical minded staff keep the business honest. To suggest they slide their ethical stance to one side in pursuit of profit is incorrect.”
“What a shame that a company that claims to be ethical is seeking to profit from the cruelty, exploitation and sexual abuse of goats. In this day and age there is no excuse for this.”
“It is the third time that we are asking you to drop Delamere_dairy because of the investigation made by Animal Justice Project inside one of their Goat farm.
It is Appauling that you are calling yourself Ethical and Organic after this!
Goat and their babies are suffering emotionally mentally and physically before being killed for Goat milk?
How dreadful that is?
I ll make sure to boycott your products and to spread the word around me until you won't stop dealing with this HORRIFIC business.
Time to listen and to respect your customers because without them you can say Bye bye to your business.”
“I totally agree with some of the comments below. I had used them for several years, always paying upfront. Twice they badly let us down with deliveries and kept promising it will be "delivered tomorrow". When I complained, they closed the account. It was only via the threat of legal action that they refunded me.”
“I have purchased from this company over a few years, I find them to be extremely unfriendly and full of indifference. You are almost afraid to ask a question because it is meant with an abrupt reply which lacks any empathy or effort to understand the point being made. I am disabled and have learning disabilities i find their approach unpleasant and unproductive. I am highly disappointed that a company of this type lacks basic ethics. I feel regret for the few people I encountered their mainly a chap in the warehouse who is polite and willing to help. This is let down by the sales staff in particular who have an attacking and sharp approach. In effect they also devalue the brands they represent.”
“Very poor service. I am owner of the hayfield deli in oxford. Been shopping from suma from 2015, very very unhappy with the service specialy after speak on 23th April 2020. Our deli been spending £1000.00 per week but now deeply sorry. Very unfriedly.”
“It is in their terms and conditions that they can cancel your account at any time without discretion. So when you have a complaint about an order that you paid upfront for that is 3 weeks late, they simply cancel your account.”
“For all the talk of being an ethical company, they are very inflexible and abrupt. I bought a new business and they would not supply me (even when paid in advance) due to an issue with the previous owner whom I bought the business from. This company has changed drastically over the last few years and are now espousing the values which they used to be so inherently against.”
“Staff are always cheerful & helpful if I have a telephone query. They are always looking out for new ethical food suppliers, they do some great deals too.”
