“I wish that I had seen this review site before I bought the item. All of the below apply. Slow delivery, cracked ad feel apart after a week and zero customer service with a prohibitive return process with no guarantee of a refund.
Avoid avoid avoid”
“Avoid, avoid, avoid. Mat cracked in less than a week and the only recourse was to send it back to Germany. Mat has now almost disintegrated - shocking quality”
“Order took over a month to arrive, they had no idea where it was. Impossible to contact via phone and then mislead you via email. I cancelled the mat several times but they still delivered it over a month after the original order and despite my efforts to cancel. In this time I'd already purchased a better mat from viking with next day delivery. They promised a refund only to renege. STAY CLEAR. benefit from my awful experience and save your money. Viking were great. Floormats.co.uk are not even based in the UK, they are in Germany.”
“Ordered un-crackabke polycarbonate mat for computer chair. After 6 weeks it finally arrived. After 4 weeks usage it cracked and splintered. Rubbish. They are not UK based either. Avoid. They ignore emails. Guarantee is useless.”
“Floormat cracked after 6 weeks and is now unusable.
Got in touch. They absurdly offered me 16% refund, upped it to 23% when I declined. I asked for a full refund. They said only if I send back the broken mat back to Germany.
Clearly this is a requirement designed to make people give up. Possibly the worst online shopping experience I have ever had. ”
“I purchased a floor mat for the carpet, I made the mistake as have others of not checking on here first.
It took a few weeks to arrive but I thought that it was ok, even though I had thought I was buying from a UK company, to find out it actually comes from Germany.
I left it to settle for 3 days in place before using it. But it only took 2 months for the cracks to show, before 3 months I was having chunks of plastic dropping out. When I contacted them to complain I was offered a 16% refund and asked to send pictures. After seeing the pictures I sent they offered me a 23% discount.
I wish I could publish a photo on here to show you the state of the mat 3 months in. It only became apparent how badly damaged the mat was when I removed it as it was placed on light tan carpet. You can clearly see deep cracking in a full circle where the chair sat, with large patches of missing plastic that has completely come away. It is shocking the damage done in such a short time frame.”
“DO NOT BUY FROM THIS CRIMINAL COMPANY!
As with many others who have been duped by this company, I bought 2 chair mats from them because of the claims of a "crack-resistant" and "High-Lifetime polycarbonate" product what can withstand up to 1000kg etc. etc.
As other buyers have found, my mats cracked badly after only a few weeks of light use, and despite many phone calls and emails, Floormats UK have refused to respond - literally no response at all.
Their completely false advertising and their failure to fulfil their obligations to the customer is CRIMINAL, and really does need investigating. These are not cheap products!
Please beware, and DO NOT BUY FROM FLOORMATS UK”
“Shocking shocking expereince. Never respond within their own time frame - and when they do it is a lie. I am fighting to get my money back through paypal - they are a disgrace. I ordered some items almost 3 weeks ago and they keep disappearing - ie they are never sent. They are thieves! Shocking experience. they need to be looked into officially DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE how can they sleep at night???”
“Bought a PVC chair mat for carpeted floors to use with a wheeled office chair in a home office. Cracked leaving dangerous sharp edges and I have not been able to get any response out of this company through phone or email. Need investigating by the authorities”
“My experience is exactly the same. My floor mat from them cracked into sharp pieces. Numerous emails and requests later, I still did not get anywhere. They do not answer the phone here in England or in Germany. I looked up the company director who appears to have very questionable business involvements. The two people who replied to my emails Kutay Kazbek and Aylin Ari Göc appear to be freelance workers who work for several firms and do not live either in England and Germany. This company appears to make its money by swindling people. There must be a way of stopping them. At first they replied to my emails with various requests and then total silence.”
“In short – DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS BUSINESS and here is why.
I had a carpet protect chair mat in my office which was very old and had started to crack and break. The cost was circa £20, and it had lasted many years so no cause for complaint.
I decided to purchase a replacement but spend a bit more for better quality as I was in the process of completely refurbishing my office. This led me to the website floormats.co.uk.
I selected the Chair Mat for Carpet Floors - PRO Series (transparent) product, which appeared suitable in design and size for my requirements and the cost was £49.99. On the floormats.co.uk website the product was rated 5-star from 257 reviews and none of the reviews were below 4stars. The product details stated, ‘high-quality polycarbonate’, ‘high-lifetime polycarbonate’ and ‘crack-, curl-, break-, scratch- and yellow-resistant’ so naturally I was expecting an excellent product that was fit for purpose and would be long lasting.
The product arrived timely enough, but it was not used until the office refurbishment was completed a few weeks later. After no more than 10 weeks of use, the chair mat cracked whilst in normal everyday use. The crack emanated from one of the underside carpet gripper studs and was approximately 9cm in length.
I emailed Floormats UK with full details requesting a replacement under warranty as the product was only 3-months old. I received a same day reply and this is where I realised, I had been duped into purchasing a product that was marketed as a high-end product at a premium price but was in fact a substandard product that was not fit for purpose.
The reply stated I would have to return the product to Germany, which obviously was not economically viable for a product of that size/weight costing £49.99. The email was polite enough but clearly both parties knew it was cost prohibitive to return the product and I suspected if I did, I would be even further out of pocket.
At that stage I did what I should have done before placing my order, I checked Floormats UK on review websites. The reviews were scathing and completely in line with my experience; a high priced, substandard product that was not fit for purpose and an obstructive after sales process.
I replied back to Floormats UK with a couple pictures of the faulty product. I also highlighted to Floormats UK the company rating on independent review websites to which I got a further reply stating I had to return the product to Germany for inspection. At this stage I was in no doubt that to send the product back would not result in a replacement or refund and I would just be throwing good money after bad. I replied again to Floormats UK stating:
A. This faulty product is not an outlier that has somehow managed to slip through your quality control procedures
B. The company you represent are well aware of the substandard product you are marketing as a quality product and selling at an inflated price
C. The companies modus operandi is to:
i. sell a substandard product, marketed as high quality at inflated prices
ii. ensure the returns process is cost prohibitive
iii. ignore genuine customer complaints
I did not get a reply from Floormats UK.
I reviewed the onerous terms and conditions on Floormats UK website and note that their returns process requires I obtain a returns reference number. The wording on the website is: ‘please do not send the item back to us before first obtaining a reference number’. Floormats UK had in a couple of emails asked to return the product to Germany but had not supplied the required reference number. If I had returned the product without the reference number, no doubt Floormats UK would have rejected the return for not quoting the returns reference number, leading to more problems and cost.
Still no response from Floormats UK.
I revisited the Floormats UK website and left a product review on the 8th January 2021, which was fair and accurate. The review summary was ‘Buyer Beware – Substandard Product and Poor After Sales’. The review has not yet been published on their website and I do not expect it to be.
I still do not have a rely to my last two emails to Floormats UK and I do not expect to receive a reply either.
I do not like writing negative reviews, sometimes things go wrong, and it cannot be helped. I have taken the time to write this review in the hope it will help someone avoid falling foul of this business. Other reviews on independent review sites refer to Floormats UK as Charlatans, Criminal and Disgusting. I agree.”
“Avoid. My experience is the same as other reviewers. I bought a floor mat from them which cracked within 2 weeks of arrival and after light use. I was promised a replacement which has not arrived a month later despite several promises to the contrary. I am not convinced the replacement would do the job. The original is now badly cracked in several places and is held together with gaffer tape.”
“DO NOT BUY would give no stars if possible, they do not answer their phones or emails and have an option for complaints but do not answer, mat cracked within weeks, so they are wrongly advertising, description of items and also they are based in Germany, and do not refund or assist your complaint, hopefully people will see these reviews to think twice, we do not need companies like this, would they like it ???”
“wish I could give zero stars, chair mat cracked within weeks, cannot get hold of company, tried phone and emails, company has changed name and now based in Germany, company registration not listed but VAT number listed, don't trust and waste your money, you might as well put down the drain, as like another review, wish I had read the reviews first!! You learn”
“Do not use them. Brought a carpet protector that cracked within a few days. Totally useless. The companies customer support was useless beyond the first email asking me to return the mat to Germany at my own expense.
Very strange they use the name Floor mats UK with actual company in Germany. Several online sites identifying them as useless if only I had read their reviews before ordering.”
