The channel nuts supplied suit series 4 platform. The series 5 is a wider channel nut. Makes it a nightmare to fit, solution requirements are channel nuts to suit a series 5 platform.
Love having the table up there. Love every Kaon product except this one for installation.
Long short version.
I bought the FJ table slide which requires two spacers.
*The self clench studs are too short thus supplied with longer 40mm button head bolts.
*Trying to feed 6x washer into a channel to sit above the channel nuts is bloody hard work. You need to do this 6 times. The button bolt needs to go through the backbone, 2x spacers, then the rack, a supplied washer then into the series 4 channel nut (rectangular alloy channel nut supplied by Kaon).
*It's a nightmare of an installation and the washer only has a small purchase area.
I modified the original Rhino Rach series 5 channel bolts but punching out the original clench studs and tig welding a 40mm stainless bolt. This made the job somewhat easier and still not the ideal solution.
The ultimate solution is to have channel nuts to suit the series 5 platform as these are wider by a few mm than what the series 4 is.
Installing would be super easy as you would slide in the channel nuts, place spacers (20mm height total) and place a bolt from underneath the roof rail.”

“I recently purchased the spare wheel gas bottle mount. The product itself is an absolutely fantastic design and idea.
My only suggestions would be:
1: the clamps for the base of the gas bottle rub on the bottom of the cylinder and you have to completely remove the bolt every time you want to dismount or mount the bottle. A small rounding of the clamp itself on the back corners alleviates this and makes it work smoothly in and out.
2: I mounted my sand flag on the bracket but it would be fantastic if the mount had some pre drilled 10mm holes In the top or side to allow for an easier mount or bracket to be fitted would be ideal. This saves having to drill extra holes in the product.
I also fitted to a 150 series prado, my only other thought would be to supply it with the back door spacers to stop the sag with the extra weight.
Otherwise fantastic product and would recommend to anyone to purchase in the future.”
