“I found the skills coaches to be knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely committed to our development. Their expertise consistently came through in the sessions.
One area that could be improved is the structure of the workshop days. Typically, we would learn a new topic in the morning and then practise it in breakout groups in the afternoon. Because these groups were made up of peers who had also only just learned the material, it often felt like we were all trying to interpret and apply the techniques at the same time. While coaches did drop in, it wasn’t always enough to ensure we were practising correctly or receiving timely feedback.
Another challenge was the balance between in‑person learning and self‑study. More in‑person sessions with our peer groups from our own organisations would have made a meaningful difference. The self‑study modules were helpful in theory, but because we were working through them independently, it could be difficult to check our understanding or ask questions as they came up. This sometimes created uncertainty about whether we were approaching assignments in the right way or applying the model as intended.
Overall, the coaching content and the skills coaches themselves were strong, but a more supported practical structure—through guided breakout groups and more opportunities for live discussion—would significantly enhance the learning experience.”
“I had a very positive experience on the L4 Project Management Apprenticeship, largely due to the support and guidance of my tutor, Tom Kennedy. Tom’s teaching during workshops was always clear, engaging, and easy to follow. He was consistently approachable, happy to answer additional questions, and always willing to arrange extra meetings when support was needed.
Throughout the course, I felt supported and guided at every stage. As a result of the learning and Tom’s teaching style, I have grown significantly both professionally and personally, particularly in terms of confidence in my own skills and abilities. I would highly recommend this course and Tom as a tutor.”
“My skills coach Chris W was awesome, really easy to talk to and always available to help. The course itself was really good, great mix of resources. Some of the structure didnt flow well for me, but it was easy enough enough to follow. Expectations are clear and assessments are marked and feedback given in good time. My only negative is the timing of the workshops, I did all the compulsary units fairly early as it was said we had to book on asap otherwise we may not get a spot. Also some of the obviouisly popular ones were booked up instantly. So putting these on more frequently would be good.”
“Overall, I really enjoyed the course and the entire experience. My skills coach was absolutely amazing and made the process even better with her kind, supportive, and enthusiastic approach. I would recommend the course to anyone looking to develop their skill set, or to those who are new to a leadership role, as it provides all the essential tools and knowledge needed to succeed.”
“I’ve had a positive experience overall with Knowledge Brief. The platform they use is easy to navigate and really helps keep everything organised, which made tracking my progress straightforward. The support team has been friendly and helpful whenever I’ve spoken to them. Although there were a couple of times it could be a little difficult to get hold of someone quickly.
That said, when reviews or check-ins were due, they were always punctual and gave constructive, detailed feedback that really helped me improve. The training webinar sessions were also excellent — engaging, well-structured, and full of useful information.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend them for the quality of their training and support.”
“I did my Level 5 Coaching Apprenticeship training with KnowledgeBrief. The skills coaches are very supportive, which made the course enjoyable. I enjoyed each and every moment of my learning journey, I enjoyed interacting with my peers when we had workshops and peer coaching sessions. I would recommend KnowledgeBrief as a learning provider. N.B: the 4 start rating is not because I have anything to complain about, it is because I believe we never attain perfection, there is always room for growth.”
“Knoweldge Brief we very supportive and I felt gave me the tools I needed to complete my course. I had 3 tutors over the 13months and all 3 of them were able to encourage and enthuse me to keep going when balancing work and course work got difficult. I would recommend knowledge Brief to those who want further trainining.”
“Some of the onboarding process was a bit clunky, but people were well intentioned. Having had another colleague on Level 5, I was surprised that we both had similar experiences.
As we both approached EPA there was a real lag in communication. We also both experienced having a change in coaches, which affected how many times one found oneself reiterating the same information.
For the most part, the content available on the platforms was excellent.
However, there was a real lack of genuine diversity in terms of where research has been drawn from. This is probably as much some feedback for the CMI as it is for Knowledge Brief. The same can be said in terms of the way that research/methodologies/analysis is constructed... there's a strong weighting or assumption that people work in larger companies. The language is completely skewed to that setting, which alienates anyone from charities or social enterprises, as well as making some things irrelevant for smaller businesses.”
