About The Code Zone:

The Code Zone runs award-winning coding clubs for children aged 6-16. Our live online clubs are open to children anywhere in the UK, and our in-person clubs run locally across Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Children learn to code by building their own games in Scratch and Python, guided by DBS-checked, STEM-certified mentors in small groups. “Absolutely loving Code Zone! My 7‑year‑old has been learning game development through coding, and it’s been amazing to watch her confidence and creativity grow. The sessions strike the perfect balance between fun and challenge, and they come home every Friday buzzing with excitement about what they built. It’s genuinely become the highlight of her week. “My 9 yo son has found Code Zone to be excellent, he's very much inspired. He looks forward to his tuition session and obviously gets a lot out of it. It's great listening in to the chit-chat honestly! His teacher has great rapport with the class, even when it occasionally gets a little hectic. Im very impressed Code Zone, well done.”

“Our son had two different taster sessions which he really enjoyed. The mentors were knowledgeable, accessible and approachable. Everyone I dealt with at The Code Zone was very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them if you’re considering signing up”

“My son really enjoys his weekly lessons with the code zone. They go at his own pace, with lots of support when needed but also independent learning encouraged. His mentor Luna in particular, is great - very patient and full of enthusiasm!”

“My son has really enjoyed his experience with the coding club. His mentor, Jordie, has been fabulous and is so kind and patient with the children. The class sizes are small so plenty of time for children to ask questions during the live sessions. They also have flexibility in the sessions to work on the task allocated or do something else they’ve been working on. Children have 24/7 access to the online portal to access games and work outside of class time.”

“I found The Code Zone on Google and I decided to get a free live session for my 6 years old girl. The tutor KC is absolutely professional, kind, patient and supportive, engaged with the children. She is really amazing! After that, I have enrolled my girl, so she can have an access to the platform anytime. The prices are very reasonable and I am very happy. Highly recommended! Thank you very much!”

“I highly recommend The Code Zone. We started with a free trial as my son showed interest in coding. I don’t understand it so I couldn’t help him. I am so grateful for this service as my son has found he fits in with like minded people which he hasn’t experienced before with bullying. The Code Zone is a safe & happy place for my son who is showing natural talent and it is being recognised by the coders; which is a huge confidence boost for him. The team is brilliant with finding a spot if he is unable to attend his class so he doesn’t miss out. His tutor Lewis is brilliant. The way he runs the sessions is outstanding. My son George is engaged, happy & calm and that is down to Lewis. You wouldn’t be able to tell George has ADHD when doing these sessions. Lewis is a great person & I see that through my son. To the point last week his Y7 tutor asked them what they wanted to do in the future. George said he wanted to be a coder like Lewis. Learning & retaining for George doesn’t come naturally so to see this in him is beautiful. I am so proud of my son to see him excel in a passion he has. The only people I can thank for this is The Code Zone because without this service he wouldn’t have experienced this feeling & inclusion. I am grateful beyond words. I was apprehensive to begin with as it is a big cost on face value. However, seeing this side of my son & seeing this in his future, his learning & his new confidence to see the world differently through The Code Zone is worth every penny. I see it as an investment in my son’s future & strongly encourage others to see past this as The Code Zone is worth its weight in gold!”

“I was worried my son would quickly loose interest with this club however he looks forward to his weekly live video call with his mentor Calum. There is a new game every week with new challenges set so this keeps him engaged. The price is fair and I would definitely recommend having the live club sessions as it's much easier to learn from discussions. Also Calum has been great at identifying strengths and moving my son up to levels that give him more of a challenge from the very first session. Customer service team are friendly and helpful, and have always reached out to make sure I am happy afterwards.”

“Our 7.5 year old son who doesn't like any clubs or activities leaps out of bed on Tuesdays and starts coding and then rushes home from school and does a countdown to his "Club". He LOVES it. He has gone from needing us to sit with him and not saying a word in session 1 to shouting singing and asking questions while playing and coding independently for an hour each week- its fantastic. The mentors are so calm, patient supportive and inclusive and generally "Cool". A fabulous model from start to finish - I'm sure itll be a positive part of our lives for a long time to come :)”

“My 8 year old daughter has absolutely loved her time with Codezone. In particular her mentor Lauren was a joy with the kids in her group. Kind, funny, patient! All the mentors we’ve had have been excellent at holding the space for every child in the session, allowing for chat, questioning with fun. My daughter also has ADHD ans can sometimes struggle with instructions or waiting her turn, and only received kindness and encouragement every week. In her words “it’s majorly fun and confidence boosting!””

“My son recently started his live group sessions and he absolutely loves them! I have always had trouble getting him to commit to groups and clubs but not with this one. He loves his lessons with Veronica and gets excited on a Thursday night even more so now knowing that not only is it nearly the weekend but he has his coding lesson. He actually said ‘YESSSS’ on Thursday night as he was going to bed. I asked him what he was so happy about and he said for his coding lesson tomorrow. He is so proud of himself and his games he has done so far and loves showing me and his family what he has done. He even plays and codes the games during the week as well. I would recommend this club to anyone! Absolutely fantastic and I’m so glad I signed my son up!”
