“COWBOYS AVOID AT ALL COST”

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Very poor quality of work. The new lawn is not level with our patio (by at least an inch) and lumpy beyond acceptability. Add to that unprofessional conduct in leaving the place in a mess and the doors to my property wide open as they left which is a security risk. They haven't even acknowledged my complaint. Wish I'd taken note of the other negative reviews and used another company.”

“Lawn look good when first put down, Day 1 started to sink in places, Day two Sank even more, Day three inspection below turf revealed stones and hardly any top soil, quote showed 10m3 of topsoil to supply for 200m2, I only saw about 2 Ton arrive. Further inspection soil put on top of existing lawn, old lawn not removed or rotavated in places, Day 5 Turf dying, even after turf watered every day constantly, Turf not knitted together just butted up, so shrinkage gaps more than should be. Promised to return at correct, didn't arrive, ignores calls, ignores, texts, ignores emails, To do this to other trades who have relied on their trust is despicable”

“Absolutely must advise to stay well clear. Paid £750 to replace a bumpy 38 year old lawn with too much meadow grass runners in it. New turf is poor quality, had potato peelings in it or in the topsoil leading to potato plants everywhere, plus other weeds, but more than anything else it is ridden with meadow grass and its runners that need digging out and reseeding. Gave up after 6 months as lawn ****ing awful. Paid another £500 to another company who couldn't believe the shoddy quality and workmanship done by the "turf laying experts"!! - some improvement immediately but three months later the lawn had turned back to how it was when laid, but with now nine months meadow grass growth - at least twice as bad as what we had removed - and even more uneven. They did nothing to flatten the lawn area. and filled our green bins with soil and grass, so heavy the council would not take them. A 40 sq.m. lawn done in a few hours - no chance they could give it the attention it really needed. Looks like we need to start again, at more and greater cost - but this time with a company with half a clue what they are doing. Shame we didn't read the reviews first - although back then all were "Anonymous" and only one bad review referring to another bad review that had been deleted. We did call with issues early on but were basically told to go forth and multiply with no customer service offered at all. If you do use this company only pay by credit card so you are protected financially if they give the same quality and service we got.”

“Disastrous using The(Arundel) turf laying experts of Pulborough. Read the other review by Tom with his photos which are exactly our experience. They took money fast enough in September 2022 then within a few weeks made excuses not to return when the lawn turned into a quagmire and with bare patches of earth, holes and rotting grass. They continue to ignore messages and will now be getting a Court Summons to pay us back all our money. Positive reviews here should not be trusted.”

“Beware: the positive reviews are written when the turf has just been laid and it looks ok. But the proof of the pudding with lawns is how it is when it’s taken root. The answer is poor. We had the same experience as Tony. This is because the company do not prepare the ground properly before laying and they lay the turf too fast. So the finished product is a very uneven lawn with dead patches. We got in 2 experienced gardeners and 2 other turf laying companies too look at the mess and they all said the same thing: this company has not done any ground preparation; have just dropped top soil on and turfed over the top. The aftercare is nil. We contacted the company and they grudgingly sent a team member to look at the lawn who agreed it was very uneven. He said they could even it for me. But thereafter, they didn’t bother to reply to phone calls or emails. So pay great attention to the bad reviews, they are accurate. I would strongly recommend you use a more experienced, more honourable company, even if they’re more expensive. This company does not give a toss.”
