“Horrible experience with them from start to finish…constantly calling and not getting callbacks..first counter chipped, second put in and didn’t fit properly. Then, ran out of what I chose, it was on back order, picked another, back order. No follow up or care from anyone there. Go somewhere else and save yourself the headache”
“DO NOT use Tops Solid surface if you expect your countertops to be installed without chips/damage, to have a seam instead of a grout line, and your counter edges and corners to match. We had the worst experience with customer service from a staff member and the owner to try to resolve multiple issues with the install of our granite. During demo our cabinets and hardwood floors weren’t protected well leading to some damage, we had a lot of damage to the walls and corners, and a shattered pendant light.
The biggest issue was finding 3 chips on our granite in different areas which the largest was found by the installers and fixed poorly without us being notified. I found it after they left from the silver scratches on our granite from their razor blade attempting to fix and the repair wasn’t flush with the counters. They made 3 attempts to fix this large chip, the first one has the silver scratches, the second is a cream/didn’t match with bubble/holes, and the third is the one that matches better. The owner said granite chips like that on its own and that it was at no fault of their Company and asked me to provide video to back up my allegation that they chipped/damaged our granite during transportation/install.
The slab cut on the side of our bar area wasn’t straight and was so far from the wall that our tile guy had to float out our tile and put a thicker bead at the bottom to cover it up.
The corner and edges of two of our granite slabs are different, one is more of a rounded bullnose edge and corner and the rest of the kitchen is a straight edge and corner.
The owner said the seam in the picture which looks like a grout line is industry standard and that he would have our project put in his own home. I tried working with the owner and all I got was comments from him that we seemed too detail oriented, their company should have steered us in the direction of another countertop company since our expectations weren’t what their company could provide, and that it was a good thing we canceled our tile backsplash job with them because that’s not their “bread and butter” that we would be happier with another company (which we were)
I understand that things happen and we are easy going people that also do not write bad reviews but there was a lot of things that added up and we want to make sure others are aware of our experience so this doesn’t happen to them.
We had an employee of another granite company come out for another job we have and he looked at our kitchen and was taken back at how horrible of a job it was.
I won’t refer this business to anyone and won’t give them any more of our business. It’s so disappointing because we love the granite we picked from the warehouse up north, we payed extra for the slab layout, and love to support a local small business.”
“I would not recommend working with Top Solid for countertops as they did a poor job of the sink cutout that looked terrible upon installation. They pushed back and made excuses when I voiced concerns about the final finished look and after a series of several phone calls they gave me a small credit but I was still left with a terrible looking sink cutout job! Definitely not satisfied with the quality of the work.”
“Tops did my entire kitchen with granite and it turned out beautiful. Everyone at Tops was a delight to work with and they knew their products very well. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future.”
“We have used Tops for our granite counter tops in our kitchen and bathrooms in our last two homes. They even installed matching granite around our bathroom mirrors. They have always done an excellent installation, and with modern technology, you can see exactly how your selected granite will look in your home before they even cut the slabs. We heartily recommend them to anyone wanting a quality installation.”
