“Appalling service, underhand practices to sign you up, deceitful, poor performance, dreadful customer service, and the most cheating company I have ever had the misfortune to work with.
I was approached by who I now know to be a broker and informed that the previous owner of the business used YGP and would I like to continue with the account. I fell into the trap and didn't check, my fault and said yes. This was utter fabrication and not true.
On the square footage of the building and the amount of electrical goods I had in the shop, it was agreed my Direct Debit would be £276/month. My first month YGP wanted £850 plus VAT but I managed to stop the DD before they did this. My KWh usage was for £288 not £850. A few days previously they removed £275 from my account and when questioned I was told it was an admin fee. No-one at any point had mentioned this.
The following months were correct which I have paid on time but not by direct debit. As a result they have charged £50, then £75, then £80 extra for paying by BACS and not the stated DD.
I have asked for a deadlock letter from YGP to be able to consult with the Utilities Ombudsmen but instead I have received a letter today stating if I do not pay the money owed - which is still in dispute, then I am being referred to a debt collection agency on 10th Feb. My letter arrived by standard post on the 11th Feb.
Customer service are difficult to get hold of and unable to resolve this issue. All I have been informed of is....... that this has been escalated to a senior manager. I have asked to be referred to the management team but told that is not possible. I even considered visiting the Leeds offices in order to find a solution but have since found out that companies offices are in South Africa !!
You can only read all the reveiews and make the decision for yourself but buyer BEWARE as I regret ever having to deal with this awful company who do not deserve the YORKSHIRE name !”
