This will 100% prevent the pi from overheating. Comfortably under 50c at full cpu load (using stressberry). The fan is audible in extremely quiet conditions, I've had it running for a few days and barely notice it at all. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for cooling.
The fan does not work at all on 3.3v so GPIO doesn't work to turn the fan on/off, it's not advertised to do this so no penalties, but I sorta wished it would work undervolted a little.
