The heatsink with dual fan really works well. To stop the fans being always on, I have added my own controller hardware and software. The controller has an NPN transistor with it's base controlled from a GPIO pin by means of a modulated mark space ratio signal based on CPU temperature. Control software coded in Python. (If interested look for help with this on the Web.)
