Yet to use the bike rack on the road, but I can say that the only additional tool required was a sharp knife, all other tools were supplied. It took only 10 minutes to assemble. Fitting to the car was a bit fiddly the first time, but found it easier if you remove the top two straps from the rack, and fit them to the car first, then reattach them to the bike rack. Everything else was straightforward.
