My cat has hair more like a dog, it's short but thick. It's a good brush but I would recommend brushing in a space where the hair is free to 'fly yonder'. Unlike a brush, the fur doesn't get caught inside, it will fly off and it's difficult to control where individual bits of fur end up. I wish also the cat would stay still long enough to profit from the efficiency of the product. I good buy and worth the money but make sure you have someone standing by with a net or a vacuum!
