We spent much more time trying to figure out what kind of finish to use than we did assembling the pieces. We finally settled on a shellac finish. It was a bit of a learning process but it ended up looking really nice. The frame assembly took longer than I expected. Wish I had had an Allen wrench of the correct size chucked into my drill. That would have sped things up considerably. It's a very solid piece of furniture which will last many years.
