Love this case, feels so well made, and I wanted an all metal case (doubles up as a heat sink) that didnt block the gpio and other pins.
I get about 45*C cpu temps, and to my knowledge haven’t exceeded 50*C even under moderate load, and in a warm room, so I’ve been very happy with temps so far. Though I’m not transcoding video 24/7 so... YMMV!
The removable lid is a nice feature and the whole thing looks very stylish.
Despite not using my pi 4 with gpio at the minute, I’ve been keeping the lid off for slightly better temps, though it doesn’t give a massive hit anyway.
The only real gripe I have (which isn’t a fault of manufacturer or pi hut) is that even with the lid off, the WiFi chip/antennas are quite severely blocked, meaning Ethernet is 100% the way to go with this case, unless you have some insane router.
But even with a decent router (£60/£70 with 4 antennas, MuMimo etc.etc..) it still struggled keeping a stable connection from 1 or two rooms away, which was quite shocking! But you’ll find this with most metal cases, and you want Ethernet for the reduced latency anyway
