its not the hands it was the clock..I have a vintage metamec that I was trying to restore after find it badly beaten up in a charity shop. The clock shop staff worked very well with a novice who know nothing about clocks and I had to by a few movements and hands to get it right...However the movement and hands I didn't need have gone on to restore 2 other old clocks that needed attention so it all worked out well.
