This is a beautiful & heavy piece. However, the 2 magnets that hold the door closed are very strong. Once the mirror was hung on the wall, it was extremely difficult to open the door without almost pulling it off the wall, due to no handle. I removed the bottom magnet & then removed 1 screw from the upper metal plate. I turned the metal plate sideways to use as a handle.
