There is a very slight color shading with the edges being a lighter blueish gray. We chose a light gray grout which accents the tile nicely. There is a gloss sheen that is very pretty. Our installer did say it was the most difficult tile he has ever installed, so may not be the best choice for a first time DIY project but we love the finished product.
