Oh dear I think I might be becoming a bit of a Seiko "Fan Boy" I first started by acquiring a Seiko SARB 033 followed by a SEIKO SARB 035. I was so impressed by the sheer quality, comfort and performance of these two watches that when I saw that a simplified version of the Seiko Alpinist was being released I had no hesitation in acquiring one as soon as it became available, The compact dimensions of Case diameter 38mm,combined with width lug to lug of 46mm and a thickness of 12.9mm make it an extremely comfortable watch to wear,I confess I am not a fan of huge watches . I love the clean dial of this watch without the Compass bezel and additional operating button that features on the Alpinist, And let's be honest,How many of us Actually know how to use these Diver/Navigator Bezels ? Far better to have a cleaner and as a result Bigger display Dial face. Having being previously impressed with the 6R15D movements in my SARBies I am sure the movement in this Baby Alpinist which is the 6R35 will satisfy my expectations as it is Basically an uprated version of the 6R15D with an additional jewel ( 24 v 23) and an uprated power reserve ( 70hrs v 50hrs ) . This watch has hardly been off my wrist since I received it. I am sure that it will become a long term Keeper.
