As the name suggests, this food is for liver issues, and it was recommended by the vet. My dog had lost weight after the surgical removal of his ruptured gall bladder and understandably had tummy trouble. After starting the special diet food he not only gained back some of the weight but also regained his very good appetite for food. The Canine Hepatic wet food is now his staple diet. He eats this food in addition to taking liver supplements and the digestion problem is gone. A photo of Donald, at the birthday party of his friends, is attached. It was taken some months after his surgery, and his liver is much improved.
