Unprotected seam at the back of the heel. Insole traps heat and sweat.
That seam rubs every time my foot goes up and down. How does could anyone claim to comfortably wear these shoes with no socks?? With bamboo socks I still get rubbed enough to not use these for anything but short walking.
Something about these insoles traps heat and moisture. To be sure, I wore one Vessi and one of several other shoes at a time and the sock coming out of the Vessi was always warmer and sweaty.
