Large is large. The description says three swords. I have a bokken and two size 39 shinai without tsubas in one pocket and it's not a tight fit. It fits the two shinai with tsubas in one side and a katana and a bokken fit in the other side and there was still plenty of case room to have staffs in the center area. It's definitely a keeper and I'll likely be getting the smaller version as well.
