I've only had this desk for about a week, so I can't speak to the longevity of the motor or materials, but it's really high quality. We had some trouble assembling it and had to postpone midway to borrow a more powerful drill. Some of the parts can be hard to align (hex rod, lookin' at you...) but once it's done, I had no wobbling at sitting height and minimal wobble at full height, nowhere near enough to spill a glass of water. The motor isn't terribly loud. A bit quieter than a hair dryer, louder than a fan if that helps at all. My supplies arrived with no defects or missing parts. The surface material seems durable and hard to scratch or dent, which is great because I chose the white top. I didn't go for the programmable switch, but I found that I didn't really need one anyway. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and although the instructions and alignment could use a few tweaks, the minor frustration is outweighed by the end result: a beautiful, clean, sturdy, stylish desk for my freelance work and gaming.
