The Clempton is extremely well made, very heavy and solid (a good thing) and has lots of design features that are very well thought out. We bought the Oak version, and it looks absolutely wonderful, and the finish is high quality and feels great. The slats are the thickest bed slats we've ever seen. One excellent design feature showcasing attention to detail is that the drawer compartments are a fully enclosed box, rather than having the drawers open to the underside of the bed, meaning dust and things won't fall into the drawers. We ordered our bed without assembly, and assembly was extremely easy. The bed frame actually comes mostly assembled, and all you need to do is attach both sides to the head and foot of the bed with 8 screws, and lay the slats on. The only thing we would warn about for self assembly is that the components of the bed are extremely heavy! A great quality once the bed is assembled, but best to be careful while moving the bed parts around!
