After a motorhome escape to Great Yarmouth beach this past weekend, Dock & Bay products faced the ultimate test: sand, sea, snacks, and a family determined to make a mess.
I bought four XL towels, an XL picnic blanket, the matching cool bag, beach bag, and some tea towels. I’m pleased to report they all passed with flying colours. The towels and blanket roll up so small that I briefly suspected witchcraft. They took up hardly any room in the motorhome and dried incredibly quickly after use.
The biggest surprise was the sand situation. Usually, beach gear brings half the coastline home with you, but the sand simply slid off everything like it had somewhere more important to be. The picnic blanket and towels were so sand-resistant they practically looked silk-coated.
The cool bag was brilliant too, and the handles were comfortable even when loaded with enough snacks to survive a small apocalypse.
My only tiny gripe is with the beach bag handles. The bag itself is great, but when carrying it for a while, the handles can dig into your shoulder or hand. The cool bag handles are much more comfortable, so perhaps a little extra padding or reinforcement in the middle of the beach bag handles would make it perfect. I know the clever design allows the bag to fold into itself, but my shoulder would happily sacrifice a tiny bit of folding magic for a bit more comfort.
Overall, fantastic products that do exactly what they promise. Compact, quick-drying, sand-repelling, and motorhome-friendly. Dock & Bay may not be able to control the British weather, but they’ve certainly mastered the beach gear.
