My wife and I volunteer in our state parks doing trail maintenance and habitat restoration several times a week that keeps us either on trails or "bush wacking". We are constantly exposed to the ticks indigenous to the central California coast. In our 6 years volunteering we have yet to find any ticks on our clothing or our bodies. I cannot say the same for others that we work with. I attribute this lack of ticks to having started sending our clothes 6 year ago to Insect Shield.
