We selected this aluminum awning because it appeared to be sturdier than some of the light plastic ones on the market. We had to replace our back door due to water coming over the gutter onto the deck and splashing up against the door. The awning was the solution we selected to keep the water, snow, and ice away from our new back door. So far it has worked out great. The product is sturdy, well made, and easy to install. It is also very good looking. We like it well enough to consider buying another one this year for our garage entry door.
