I cannot express how happy I am to have found shoes wide enough for my toes to wiggle and splay...that are ALSO water resistant and not made with leather. My feet have gradually widened throughout my transition to barefoot shoes, drastically narrowing my options! My feet are 26cm long and 11cm wide. Bohempia, Gea Soles, Soft Star, Sole Runner, and Vibram 5 Fingers are the only brands that are wide enough for me - though I get away with Wildling (where the upper fabric is soft and tends to give and stretch) and Ahinsa (ballet flats without a sock, though a bit low volume for my shape feet). My first pair of barefoot shoes were Freets (an early and very wide version of the Bootee that they discontinued) and I also have a lovely pair of Sole Runner Transition Vario 3 Synthetic boots (from here) which have a great toe box but are so stiff on the ankle they are incredibly uncomfortable to walk any distance in. I have a pair of Bohempia Rolas (my favourite ever shoes, so versatile) in a size 41 which are perfect, and my feet always stay dry in them even in the Manchester rain. Rola (wide) and 41 in the Oriks weren't available which is why I got the 42s. They are too big for me really (a bit too long). However, I can wear a nice thick sock in them which means they'll probably become my go to Winter shoes. I changed the laces the Oriks came with to 'Easy Laces' (silicone lace replacements, see pic) which make them much easier to slip on and off. They've barely been off my feet since they were delivered and go with everything. I reported some strange white marks on the foxing of the shoes which just don't seem to shift, and Happy Little Soles swiftly sorted out a discount for me.
