Great piece of kit to keep my washed beans ready for grinding each morning. I leave one out of sunlight (hence the metal sides might be optimal), and one in the freezer which splits a 1kg bean bag, with a little over. When you depress the vacuum release, it sounds like a movie airlock and you can smell the vapour secreted by the beans so you know it’s serving it purpose to keep them at a constant and without decay. Glass is fine in the freezer, it’s not cracked and once the first unit it done out comes the freezer batch for another 2-4 weeks use. Although the metal sides would be good to protect from sunlight it’s enjoyable to see the bean level and check I’m using the washed and not espresso. A dial in the lid would be cool to show which type is housed, just what would help me of the beans looked too similar.
