The program is very effective; however, there are editing mistakes. The most notable mistake, so far, is in lesson 20: letter X. The worksheet directions for the 'teacher' are wrong, and one of the pictures on the student page is of socks! I am admittedly not the best speller, but it is not s-o-x. This ended up being very confusing for my emerging reader. I wrote the words and worked through why they had the same sound, but it should not have been there to begin with.

I bought this to teach my grandson and he prefers to learn the sounds of the letters without the songs. He is not a fan and clearly voiced his 4yo opinion on it lol. However, I still use the songs occasionally. He's stringing words together and his parents are impressed!

We've enjoyed the programs so far. It is simple to execute and the kids love the songs and stories. We are not finished with the program yet, but so far it has worked for our family.

My son has spent 2 years going to preschool where they go through the alphabet each year, but he's never really cared about memorizing his letters. I'm a former teacher and I've spent countless hours trying to help him be engaged in learning his letters and letter sounds. Until now, those efforts have been fruitless. He just wasn't motivated and he really struggled with retention. Within 2 weeks of using Learning Dynamics, he has started recognizing the letters he's learned in print around the world when we go out. He excitedly shouts out the letters and their sounds when he finds them. He's starting to blend really well and he can't wait to get his first book. I thought the letter cards were cute, but wouldn't really matter to him and I was so happy to be proven wrong. He loves having ownership of them - he memorizes all the characters names and collects them in a bag that he brings each time he sits down to do a lesson with me. I am so happy to finally see him find joy in learning to read!

I've only taught the first two letters so far but my son loves the music and, to my surprise, loves the character cards. I thought they would be too simple of a reward for him but he loves being able to keep them and go back and play with them. He even talks to them like they're his little friends and makes up stories with them. So they have been quite helpful in helping him remember the letters that they represent. It's been nice to have something to refer back to when we go about our day and see things that start with the letters he's learned. I think this is going to be a very successful endeavor and I'm glad that I got the product. My son already knew his entire alphabet and could pick out the letters and knew what some of those letters "say" before we started this program. I don't know if that will make it easier or not. I would assume so. However, I'm pretty sure that as long as we can make the time to do the lessons as often as we should that my son will be reading very soon. He's only three and a half and I'm very excited to see how well this works.
