“Have used this Henna product for over a year. Love the fact that its' natural. I have dark brown hair and a few whites coming out near my face. I leave it on for 4 hours then rinse with warm water. It's easy to mix and easy to wash out. I don't find it messy. It feels very therapeutic to organise and apply. The colour turns out a subtle hint of caramel brown on my dark brown hair. It doesn't darken my hair as some other henna colours do which is good. My white hairs turn out a golden-caramel so it looks like natural sun-kissed highlights. It last around 4 weeks. I love that it is a subtle way of colouring my white hairs and a natural subtle result. Love Desert Shadow.”
“I loved it :) not quite as deep a red as I was hoping for but I think I will achieve my desired colour with another application. As my hair was blonde balayage it's picked up on that and now I have a nice red balayage! I left the colour in for three hours (the instructions say leave it for two) I have long thick hair and one sachet was more than enough to cover all my hair (I would normally buy two packets of a box hair dye). The smell is just an earthy smell and not unpleasant, I'd prefer it to breathing in unnatural chemicals of other dyes! Also love that it came with a cute hand written note inside the box, and minimal packaging (no plastic) Would recommend”
“Like so many others, I was a bit skeptical at first and completely overwhelmed with all of the prep etc. After years of salon dyes, I wasn't sure how this would go. Prepped as per instructions the night before. DIdn't bother with a strand test first - just risked it! Despite my complete lack of skill in applying the dye, the results were phenomenal. Lovely, rich colour. Hair feels thicker and stronger. There is a definite earthy smell to the dye. I added the lavender oil to combat this and noticed it until the second time I washed - but it wasn't unpleasant. Overall, I'm completely hooked. A couple of weeks on, the colour has faded a little but quite naturally. Have been using organic everything on my face, hair and body for years and am thrilled to now be able to replace the chemicals when colouring my hair.”
“I absolutely love this product.. as the packaging suggests its not a quick colour like one may have used before but dont let this put you off! Its a little preparation time yes, and if you have greys there is the 3.5 to 4 hour leave in time but make the time on a Sunday and relax. .the colour is a gorgeous warm chestnut colour as the packaging also suggests just like warm winter chestnuts. .its conditioning and long lasting and most importantly covers greys impeccably. ..i cannot suggest this product enough. Flora and Fauna are excellent sellers of this and offer such good support with any questions etc.. please try this you will not be disappointed. .am so glad i found it!”
“I adore desert shadow. Yes it smells like cut grass, but anything is better than that fumey chemical smell that does you harm! I urge everyone to watch youtube vids on how to mix and apply this, as everyone is commenting saying you cant use it steaight away- yes you can, watch the videos please. Anyhow this colour is a gorgeous rich shiny warm brown that i absolutely love. Better results than chenical dye.”
