“Very happy with Garmin 1040. Previously had a 520. After seeing the larger format screen of fellow rider who has a 1030, plus with my aging eye sight, was happy to go for the big screen version. Additionally, like the touchscreen & additional features. Next upgrade is to replace RTL radar with an RCT715, with camera, which only 30 series onward supports. Plus, on sale was a great price for a substantial tech upgrade.”
“Replacement of another unit at 2 years old. Cheaper to buy on new one on special than repair. Previous unit overheated and melted the USBC connection. Must have been some crud in the port as I have never heard of this happening to anyone else. Would be improved by backplate contacts for charging, but otherwise Garmin are still the best computers.”
