Garmin HRM-Pro Heart Rate Monitor Reviews

4.7 Rating 58 Reviews
Been using this for a few weeks now, on a mix of rides (on- and off-road), runs and workouts. I've got it paired with a Fenix 6X Pro Solar. Connection is easy and reliable, no dropouts or lost data so far. I got this to get more reliable HR info on my rides - the wrist mounted data just wasn't cutting it. To that end, it's doing exactly what it says on the box. Running metrics are a pretty cool addition, getting some info on L/R balance, breathing rates, contact time & so on is interesting to review. No much of a runner though, so just a curiosity for the most part. Overall quality seems good, but only long-term usage will tell I guess. So far, I'd recommend if you're looking for more accurate HR data and some extra metrics on your Garmin device.

Does everithing I require it to, easy to use and wear. Initially could not get it to connect to my devices however dteremined the battery supplied with the unit was flat, perhaps due to sitting on shelf for a while. Changed for a fresh battery and all worked as expected.

One purches a heart monitor to see the heart rate. Where can one see that rate? It would appear on none of my devices. It would appear one has to now buy another Garmin device to see what the HRM-Pro can display. Any offers on a never used Garmin HRM, and I wont dignify it with a pro.

Garmin have provided this HRM Pro for in excess of 10 years , however it is widely known in the industry (both athletes and retailers) that the HRM only lasts 12 to 15 months with regular use! The strap will disintegrate or the signal will fail. I have purchased in excess of 5 Garmin HRM Pro and have not always being able to claim a replacement under warenty. I welcome Garmin's response, as to how they will adress this or increase the waranty period to 2 years, other than it is a highly profitable product line for Garmin and there are no plans to improve it.
