“I'm using the MT-1 rack on the back of my medium-sized SUV, and it works beautifully. It's a cleverly designed and well built piece of engineering. It's quick and easy to attach and detach, and holds the bike firmly. While driving, neither the rack nor the bike moves at all, and there are no rattling or bumping sounds. When you leave the car for a bike ride, the quick-detach design encourages you to take the rack off and stow it in the car, because by the same token it would be easy to steal if you got lazy and left it in place.
The only reason I'm only giving it 4 out of 5 is the instructions. The diagrams are small and not well labelled. The instructions include names of parts, but it assumes you should know what they all mean, and there's no clearly labelled parts diagram. Although there are a few video reviews, I couldn't find a simple and clear instruction video which would eliminate any confusion. However, the instructions were enough for me to figure it out after a few reads, and once you've done it the first time, there's no problem.”
“Good but not perfect. The support brackets for the bike are limited to a single tube-like structure whereas my bike has three-tubes to the rear section which do not sit securely. Also supports which go onto rear windscreen tend to slip against wet glass. I attached non-slip rubber pads to fix that problem”
“This is great except watch out if your top tubes don't fit in, I thought it was standard all size fit - my mistake. Fits and installs on car easy but tricky is the two bike holding straps - this really needs improvement as you will stand there for 20 mins trying to get the tabs through the plastic hole... It's a good quality product for the price but the design of straps need improvement.”
