“I'm writing this review because I keep getting emails asking for one. Sadly, it is not a good story. I had been having excellent service from the Prospect shop, then moved north and booked my bike in to Modbury for an annual service. In the meantime, I had fitted an electric kit with a motor in the front hub. When I got to the shop, I was refused service because of this. Note that I didn't want anything done to the e-kit, just brakes, cables, the usual stuff I had done regularly at Prospect, and a broken spoke. I asked where I could go for a service. They suggested a bike shop in Brighton, nearly 40 km away. I pointed out that if they sent me away, I would take my business with me. They did not register one bit of concern; in fact, I kept getting emails to confirm the booking that had been refused, and then regular emails asking for a review. I thought it was an appalling way to treat a past customer. On the upside, I looked for a bike mechanic locally and found a great guy who has a home workshop in my own suburb. Now I am grateful to 99Bikes for forcing me to make the switch. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad shop or anything like that; I still be doing business with them if they wanted my custom, but in this instance, they were a complete fail. Thanks for your service in the past; now it is time to move on.”
