Shimano ME700 Pedal Reviews

4.7 Rating 25 Reviews
These have been great so far. I usually have been using Shimano SPD pedals that have a side for normal shoes and a side for cleats for many years. These are still usable with normal shoes but I wouldn't get them if you plan on cycling with normal shoes often as they aren't very grippy in that case, but occasional use seems fine. Also they were a good price, reasonably light and I needed new pedals for my new black bike which the really suited!

Good size platform/SPD, perfect for riding around the Kalamunda trails of Perth. Good price too. Mine didn't even need adjusting - take care this may not happen for everyone.

Great Pedals.. great price. Work like they should and give you the added confidence of a wide platform incase you dont get clicked in quick enough on a downhill run. Thanks for the speedy delivery 99 bikes ... 5*

Rides well with a stable platform for more peace of mind when clipping in on a tricky trail

Like every other rider who changed from flat-pedals to clipless probably should have done it sooner, I can't really compare these to other clipless pedals as they are my first set. But comparing to mountainbiking with flat pedals (roads, gravel roads, fire-trails and the odd cool downhill section) the pro's; better control of the bike on the fast loose stuff, you don't lose the pedals over the bigger jumps, smoother pedalling overall. Cons; still prefer flat pedals for the slow technical stuff (rocky creek beds etc), at some stage you will simply fall over when you come to a stop, thought you had unclipped, but were still clipped in.

Pedal was fine, as expected. 99 Bikes service was pretty poor tbh.
