“Great SPD pedal and flat combo. Subjected them to a punishing 3hour gravel ride the day after fitting them to my bike and they were brilliant. Easy to clip out of and great to ride with. The flat side allows you to just jump on them with a normal pair of shoes and ride off. The grip on the flats is really good and even better than I had thought they would be. Yes they are a bit bulky, but its a great 2 in 1 pedal. Highly recommend!”
“I've used these for about a month now with and without cleats. They are definitley a compromise. People complaining that you'll "always get the wrong side" are right, but they're also missing the point. The point is to have a bike that can benefit from the increase in speed you get from cleats while also allowing you to still trundle down to the shops on a lazy weekend day without changing out of your slippers, and these are excellent at doing that. Their natural position is biased slightly towards the SPD side, so they are eay to get the right side when wearing cleats. Learning how to get on the flats after a stop takes a bit of practice but it'll be muscle memory within two weeks. Yes, it's a little annoying - but this is more than made up for in convenience. They lose a star because it's hard to get into the SPDs sometimes - they sort of don't engage and it's hard to tell why, it's ahrd to develop a feel for how to get clipped in.”
“These pedals are easy to use with one side flat and the other fitted with a SPD cleat. I found that a previous version of this pedal featured a lot of hard black plastic which damaged easily such that sharp edges were cutting my lower legs. These pedals have a high metal content that hopefully have a lower chance of being damaged and there fore less likley to cut my legs.”
