“Only needed the three speed really to replace the old one as the ratchet mechanism only gave me 2 of three Gear Index settings. Will fit both or keep a spare 8 speed. Works great as I thought the front derailleur shifter was in need of replacing too. Only fault was that the barrel adjuster was missing. Lucky I kept the old one.”
“Of course the shifters work exactly as expected and are reasonably priced and easy to fit.. however I wish I'd known that the shifters came with a full set of cables. Work this out the shifters inc. cables were about $63. I them bought Shimano cables, brake and gears which came to about $66. I think the American expression is "go figure". No reflection on 99 Bikes but more of a "measure twice cut once" approach needed by me.”
