This was a random act of kindness gift after I discovered my daughter’s school friend had been trying to get a free scooter on marketplace to go out with them on the weekend and that he had never owned a scooter or even a pushbike of his own…
I could’ve got a cheaper one from Kmart or something, but I remember being 13 you gotta have the cool stuff - and when I looked online the envy prodigy was the GOAT.
I purchased some hexlock screw covers for the bolts on the handlebar to help prevent it being stolen (fyi - the X One has steel bolts so you can get the magnetised bolt covers) Cost $60 extra that means he doesn’t have to have a huge chain to secure both the handlebars and deck and if some punk tried to steal it, the likelihood of them having the right hex lock is very very slim)
In a years time, I won’t remember the bills. I paid a few days late because I bought this scooter - but he will remember the day he got his very first wheels (the coolest brand, and I think the black and oil slick - the best looking as well) for a very long time.
The service from 99 bikes was great super easy to purchase this online and my 18 year-old picked it up. Got a helmet on sale while there too had a very good price.
(just read his review before I press enter -the hexlock thing I found online - I didn’t even know they existed until the other day - and I got the magnetic covers after getting the wrong hexlock replacement bolts - twice …. if Google tells you you can get them from Bunnings, you can’t)
If you are buying this scooter as a replacement for one that your child has grown out of, instead of leaving it in your shed - consider putting it on Facebook marketplace or your local community noticeboard for free - kindness matters :)”
