“With a few adjustments the eSilex 400 bike is comfortable to ride. The lowest powe setting provides assitance and still allows me to ride with others comfortably.”
“We purchased 2x of these from 99 bikes at Burleigh. Great service from these guys-thank you. About the Merida e-Silex 400. This is a gravel e-bike which makes you feel fit again :-) The assistance comes on gradually, but noticeably to provide a welcome boost when needed (particularly uphill) Rides between 70km and 100km are easily achieved depending on the terrain being ridden and the level of assitance. The bike can be ridden without any assistance, and although it's not overly heavy at around 14kg (sz XL) the bike can be a bit of a drag on the flats if you're riding around 25kph. That aside it's easy to use, intuitive, easy to adjust the assistance whilst riding, and the battery indicator shows how much battery is left. Also worth mentioning is the multiple bottle cage and accessory mounts, very handy. The Mahle Ebike Motion App didn't work for us, but I've not found a need to change anything as yet. It also surprisingly descends and corners very well, providing a grin factor on par with other high-end carbon gravel bikes ridden. Ultimately if you're looking for a fun and capable e-gravel bike, with the ability to help you up hills, and let you enjoy the descents on the other side, you can't go wrong.”
