“This is an outstanding value mountain bike in the mid spec category. Quality build and finish you would expect from Merida. Comfortable ride and very capable machine. I looked at many bikes in the $800 to $1,000 category and narrowed it down to this bike. After one month of ownership I consider I made the perfect choice. My only gripes are minor. I would have liked a slightly higher spec gearing that the fairly basic 9 speed Cues, but it is adequate. I can upgrade it later. Plus I would have liked more attachment points for racks and bikepacking gear. But this was not enough to exclude the Big 9/80 from my highly recommended list. It does everything else well. Good handling and a solid quality feel about it and all the components. It is just a good all-rounder which is what I was after.
