Merida Scultura 10k Road Race Bike Silk Blue/Grey/Flash Bcp LG Reviews

A disappointing experience since picking up the bike. First of all, the bike was relatively dirty covered by multiple greasy patches on the frame and seat post. The handlebar tape was poorly fitted with protrusions of inappropriately trimmed blunt end (confirmed by store manager this is fitted in their store). The box containing spare parts included from bike purchase was probably the most disappointing and disgusting part. It was again covered with spots of grease, and also contain random clips, brackets, Allen keys, rubbish that should not have been there the first place. Instead of placing the charging dock and cord back into the battery pack box (unsure why this needed to be used by a bike shop during set up), the cords were untangled (appeared used) and the dock was just loosely placed inside the bigger greased up box. Really appreciate the mystery box experience. Finally, the follow up experience. This maybe attributable to specific bike mechanics. The bike wheels comes with tyre pressure sensors, which cannot be used unless it is set up tubeless with the specific valve provided. I was quite surprised I needed to pay extra to have it changed to tubeless, and paying for another 1L bottle of sealant without proper consent. I assume as the bike wheels are intended to be used as a tubeless set up, this should be part of the assembly process? Furthermore, given the sensitivity of the pressure sensors, ZIPP specifically mentioned to use their included syringe when injecting the tyre sealant while ensuring this is not done with the valve at 6 o’clock position. I have specifically instructed the mechanic to follow these instructions. Like a disappointed Asian parents, I watched him inject the sealant without the syringe, and in the 6 o’clock position. Finally, I asked to pump at specific pressure as measured using the tyre pressure guide by ZIPP. Unsurprisingly, this was not exercised. Finally, I was not informed the price and what other costs involved in converting the wheels to tubeless set up. The mechanic just showed me the sealant he recommended, and took the 1L bottle directly to the garage and started the process. During checkout, it turns out to cost $80 for a 20 minutes process, and I had to pay for the sealant as well. Perhaps this is store dependent, however this was a very disappointing experience when spending close to $10k on a bicycle.
