“It's "fine". I wanted to buy a 20" frame to suit my 115cm 5 year old but on discussion with my wife we bought this 16" frame to increase confidence and have feet be able to touch the floor. This it fulfills, but the frame is too small for our child as evidenced by the monkey bike style knees out to the side (this is not a negative of the bike, juist to give an idea of size).
The main problems are the steel frame is so much heavier than I was expecting, and the backpedal back brake is just a terrible design choice/idea. For a child trying to learn, they are unable to kick the pedals backwards to get them in a good spot to kick off and start - I literally have to pick her and it up off the ground then push the pedals around myself to get them in the right spot.
We won't be holding on to this for long, it is just a gateway bike into something really useable in a few months and considering the price I wouldn't buy it again in future.”
