“Bought a bike before and got great service from 99 bikes. Current experience was very frustrating experience and my kid is still without a working bike.
Bike was delivered with a bent derailleur. Took a week to get a booking with a mechanic at Brookvale store on Thursday 31st. Dropped the bike first thing in the morning, was told to pick-up on Friday. Went to pick up only to find derailleur was still bent. Mechanic told me he still managed to get it working. Sure, when lifting the wheel in the air and paddling it using one hand with no load it sounds like it worked, but as soon as bike was ridden, the derailleur was still not shifting correctly and the chain was jumping.
Mechanic told me that it could not be fixed. My options were for him to send bike to the manufacturer to claim warranty and have to wait 2 weeks. He said there was a chance the bike would come back with warranty claim denied and I would have to pay for a new derailleur myself! What!?!?
I called the store in Victoria which sold me the bike and said I wanted to return it and they were very helpful and called the Brookvale store and told the mechanic to just replace the bent derailleur with a new one. Called mechanic at Brookvale again and was told I could pick up the bike on Saturday afternoon as team was too busy. Went there on Sat and was told he did not have time. Come back tomorrow. Same thing on Sunday. Called yesterday and same thing again. Now is Tuesday evening and my kid still does not have a bike.
I will not be buying at 99 bikes anymore.”

Only improvement I would make is that the front suspension is way too hard and doesn't have any give under the weight of a child.”
