“We've done 1300km on our pedal packer in the 12 months since we bought it and happily recommend it to our friends.
It's our daily daycare and shopping trip hauler. It reliably flattens our hilly commutes, and puts a smile on our faces.
So far we only have a 2 year old on the back, but if we end up with two kids, it will handle that with ease.
Both me (198cm) and my partner (165cm) comfortably ride the bike.
I haven't measured the range. We rarely ride further than 17km in one go and we charge it every couple of weeks. The battery capacity is ginormous, but the bike is heavy and can haul a lot of cargo up steep hills, so I expect you could return a 50km range or 150km depending on loading and assist level.
Once I kinked the chain and destroyed a derailleur by not being careful enough with gear shifting, when the motor was set to its most powerful level. My fault.
There would definitely be advantages to spending $6k more for a top tier brand, especially with a belt drive and internal hub gears.
But for the price, this is a whole lot of bike and I'd buy it again.”
