We’ve been really impressed with the Segway Ninebot C2 Lite! It’s practical, sturdy and incredibly easy for my 7 year old son to use independently.
His absolute favourite feature is the colourful LED lights underneath the scooter, which look fantastic in the evening. Apparently having a scooter that lights up in different colours makes you the coolest kid around!
The controls are straightforward and easy for little hands to manage. The hand-operated brake is responsive and effective, and the accelerator is conveniently positioned on the handlebars. With three riding modes and a maximum speed of 16 km/h, there's plenty of excitement, but also the option to start at a slower speed while building confidence. A helmet and protective gear are definitely essential!
The scooter accommodates riders up to 50 kg, so hopefully we'll get a few good years of use out of it. I also appreciate the solid rubber tyres, which means no worrying about punctures or pumping them up.
Charging is simple enough that my son can manage plugging it in himself, with adult supervision. Battery life has been impressive so far. We regularly take it out while walking our two dogs and haven't managed to run the battery flat yet! Segway advertises up to 70 minutes of riding time under test conditions, which is considerably longer than I initially expected.
Overall, it's been a fantastic purchase. My son gets outdoors, has fun and builds confidence, while I appreciate the practical design, reliable brakes and ease of use. Even the dogs get excited when the scooter comes out!

The only downside is the battery it takes around 4–5 hours to fully charge but only lasts less than an hour of use, which is a bit disappointing.”

“Great scooter, I bought 2, one for my 6 year old, one for my 3 year old, for my 3 year old the handles were too high at the lowest setting so he has to grow into it a bit more, where as my 6 year old loves it, rides it every night around the block. It has multiple lighting options, which is decent, wish it was brighter for safety reasons but still decent, the top speed is good aswell as acceleration, but id say only for entry users, my kid 2 weeks later could do with a quicker scooter.
Battery life is good aswell as it last a few days.”
