“Having owned an F2 Pro, an F3 Pro, and now this MAX G3 Segway Scooter, I can say that this is simply an awesome scooter!
The benefits over the aforementioned scooters are significant, with better range, much more power, larger tyres, wonderful suspension, heaps faster charging times and a larger deck without a big weight penalty.
Having the option to separately purchase and run an external battery for increased range is pretty versatile too, however for me the added cost and weight isn't worth it for my usage.
I think the F3 Pro is a fine scooter, very similar to the MAX G3 in most ways, and being cheaper, slightly smaller and around 5kg lighter it is also worthy of your consideration.
The MAX G3 is like the Rolls-Royce of scooters, without having to spend an absurd amount of money. The larger tyres and proper front and rear hydraulic suspension make it a very smooth ride indeed. The motor has tons of power, torque, acceleration and a top speed of 45kmh if you want it to for private property use, it's easy to unlock but I don't feel it responsible of me to mention how in this review.
Charging only takes around 2.5 hours and a separate charging brick isn't needed as it's incorporated into the scooter, you simply plug a cable straight from the scooter to your mains power point.
It also has under deck lighting which is fantastic for night riding and not something I see heavily advertised, I wasn't aware of this feature until I got the scooter myself.
The front light is super bright, much better than previous models, and is also adjustable in terms of angle.
The screen is nice and also a big upgrade over older models.
I think the only thing that was better on older models was the sounds for indicating etc, they're not very pronounced on the G3 and the G3 lacks an electric horn which seems silly as the older and cheaper models have one.”
“Scooter was great for ~9 days and then completely stopped charging.
Segway dragged their feet on getting any warranty process underway - to the point that they offered a second hand scooter for the faulty new one.
Ended up refunding the purchase, as it was a waste of time dealing with Segway.
The team in the Mitchell store were fantastic and really helpful throughout the whole process (especially dealing with my frustration) and I am definitely heading back to them when I need a new bike.”
